  Brief Profile  

Ms. Shaheera Jalil Albasit, hails from Karachi. In 2009, she won the debates round of the international competition, 'Quanta' against 19 countries in Lucknow, India. She is pursuing Geophysics at Bahria University for which she has been awarded the merit scholarship on topping in her department. She wishes to join the Pakistan Air Force. She is a certified public trainer and is also affiliated with a youth magazine, 'Blah' and is member of three student bodies at her University. She has also filmed a documentary based on 'Democracy' for a national competition. She tweets @shaheerajalil.

Politically, Shaheera Jalil Albasit was affiliated with Blue Party and served as, Youth Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defence and former member Youth Parliament Standing Committee on Finance, Planning Affairs and Economics from Session I to Session IV

Ms. Shaheera Jalil Albasit (YP56-SINDH08), Ms. Elia Nauroz Ali (YP03-BALOCHISTAN01), Mr. Ahmed Numair Farooq (YP21-PUNJAB01) and Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05) invite the attention of the Youth Prime Minister to the prevailing scenario of lack of governance and lack of public access to decision-making and to economic benefits in the existing provinces. While abiding by the spirit of the federation, the House can discuss the measures necessary for improved governance, improved public access to resources and improved economic growth of the country. The House shall discuss advantages of demarcation of provinces as a possible solution.

The government of Pakistan must ensure basic fundamental rights of all citizens prescribed under constitution according to Article 10, 12 and 37”.

The government should improvise the condition of Higher Education Commission and should pay its due installments on time to safeguard the (standard of) Higher Education”.

Ms. Shaheera Jalil Albasit (YP56-SINDH08) would like to invite the attention of the Honorable Youth Prime Minister to the extremely unfortunate incident that took place on September 12, 2012 in Karachi’s Garment Factory in Baldia Town when more than 250 people died in a fire.

Ms. Shaheera Jalil Albasit (YP56-SINDH08), Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05), Mr. Ubaid-ur- Rehman (YP47-PUNJAB27) and Mr.Muhammad Umar Riaz (YP36-PUNJAB16) would like to move the following resolution: “This House is of the opinion that students in Private educational institutions which are administered by Pakistan Army, Navy and Air force are strictly not allowed to conduct political debates and dialogues on matters relating to the Forces. This House is of the opinion that the military administration of these educational institutions must maintain a difference between a military academy and a civil institution and that these students must be allowed to hold and express their views on all social issues and must not be restricted from healthy political dialogues.”

Ms. Shaheera Jalil Albasit (YP56-SINDH08) would like to move the following resolution:“This House is of the opinion that the process of Civilian Induction (for the rank of Commissioned Officer) in Pakistan Air force, Pakistan Army and Pakistan Navy must be made transparent on urgent basis:(i) At every step of Induction, marks of candidates must be shared with them,(ii) The ISSB (Inter Services Selection Board) Psychological Test criteria must be relaxed,(iii) Candidates who have been declared “Fit” by the Central Medical Board once must be provided special relaxations in the next Induction Courses.”
