  Brief Profile  

Mr. Gohar Zaman, born on January 3, 1992, hails from Multan. He did his O' Levels from Multan Public School, Multan and A' Levels from LaSalle Higher Secondary School, Mulan. At present he is studying Mechanical Engineering at University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore. He cleared the National Science Talent Contest in 2009 and was among top 50 science students. He was recently elected as Joint Secretary of UET Debating Society. He has won several Declamation and Parliamentary Debates Contests. He also won Honourable Mention at Model United Conference held at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences & Technology in 2011. He writes articles for College Magazine and was student editor for school magazine. Mr. Zaman is interested in current affairs, international affairs and political affairs.

  Status in Youth Parliament  

Politically, Gohar Zaman was affiliated with Blue Party and served as, Youth Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication and Chairperson Special Committee on Demarcation of Provinces and was member of Youth Parliament Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication and former member Youth Parliament Standing Committee on Information from Session I to Session IV

Second Session

Ms. Shaheera Jalil Albasit (YP56-SINDH08), Ms. Elia Nauroz Ali (YP03-BALOCHISTAN01), Mr. Ahmed Numair Farooq (YP21-PUNJAB01) and Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05) invite the attention of the Youth Prime Minister to the prevailing scenario of lack of governance and lack of public access to decision-making and to economic benefits in the existing provinces. While abiding by the spirit of the federation, the House can discuss the measures necessary for improved governance, improved public access to resources and improved economic growth of the country. The House shall discuss advantages of demarcation of provinces as a possible solution.

Mr. Ahmed Numiar Farooq (YP21-PUNJAB01), Mr. Salman Khan Shinwari (YP18-KPK05),Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05), Mr. Amir Abbas (YP08-FATA01), Ms.Anum Mohsin (YP22-PUNJAB 02) and Ms. Elia Nauroz Ali (YP03-BOLOCHISTAN01) would like to move the following resolution: “This House is of the opinion that enhanced economic cooperation between Pakistan and United States is the only way forward for the bilateral relations between the two countries and urged the current government to diplomatically secure more trade incentives from United States in the form of ,Low tariffs, Reconstruction Opportunity Zones, Cooperation in energy sector and increase in the investment from United States. Moreover the following steps should also be taken for ensuring a bilateral benefit in political cooperation on the basis of equality:Henceforth, the armed forces of the United States/NATO should in no case violate the borders of Pakistan by any means whatsoever;. Agreements concluded between the US and Pakistan shall not be binding on either the party until they are reduced to written form;. The losses of Pakistan in war against terrorism should be adequately compensated and its role duly recognized.”

Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05), Ms. Sahar Iqbal (YP44-PUNJAB24), Mr. Muhammad Hamid Chaudhry (YP32-PUNJAB12), Mr. Ateeq Ur Rehman (YP24-PUNJAB04), Mr. Muhammad Umar Riaz (YP36-PUNJAB16) and Ms. Anum Zia (YP23-PUNJAB03) would like to move the following resolution: “This House is of the opinion that in awake of increasing killing and kidnapping of Journalists, it is the prime duty of the government to ensure life safety of each and every citizen. Government should take immediate steps to provide security to media personnel, both local and foreigner and should ensure the provision of basic human right of life security to them. ”

Mr. Muhammad Zafar Siddique (YP39-PUNJAB19), Mr. Muhammad Waqar (YP38-PUNJAB18), Ms. Seep Akhter Channer (YP55-SINDH07), Mr. Amir Abbas (YP08-FATA01),Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05), Mr. Saleem Khan (YP07-BALOCHISTAN05) and Mr. Gulfam Mustafa (YP26-PUNJAB06) would like to move the following resolution:“This House is of the opinion that keeping in view the disturbing rise in the cases of child molestation, child labor and child marriages, immediate actions must be taken to stop such violence by requiring speedy criminal trials, issuing protection orders, creating grass-root level protection committees, and punishing the offenders with long jail terms and heavy fines”.

Ms. Shaheera Jalil Albasit (YP56-SINDH08), Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05), Mr Omair Najam (YP52-SINDH04) and Mr. Muhammad Hamid Chaudry (YP32-PUNJAB12) would like to move following resolution; “This House is of the opinion that Student Unions are fundamental right of the students as abide by the democracy. Governments, local and all provincials, should immediately take actions for disarmament of Student Organizations, should resurrect the Official Student Unions as granted by Constitution and should ensure peaceful and constructive working of the Student Unions”.

Mr. Omair Najam (YP52-SINDH04), Mr. Hassan Ashraf (YP01-AJK1) and Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05) would like to move the following resolution; “This House is of the opinion that Kashmir conflict is the main cause of dispute between Pakistan and India. For the speedy resolution of the conflict both countries should include the Kashmiri Leadership in the dialogue process. Moreover both countries should demilitarize the Jammu and Kashmir Valley to abridge the trust deficient.”

Ms. Anum Zia (YP23-PUNJAB03), Ms. Sahar Iqbal (YP44-PUNJAB24), Mr. Osama Mehmood (YP42-PUNJAB22), Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05), Ms. Rabiya Shamim (YP53-SINDH05) and Mr. Muhammad Umar Riaz (YP36-PUNJAB16) would like to move the following resolution; “This House is of the opinion that political advertising is increasingly being applied to media during election campaigns; sometimes a politician contending an election will make an explicit comparison between himself and his rival, others use government money and resources to advertise for their political campaigns. Such Political advertisements on television should be banned in order to give the general population an opportunity to self-evaluate and choose their leaders."

Mr. Aamir Khan Khichi (YP30-PUNJAB10), Mr. Muhammad Umar Riaz (YP36-PUNJAB16), Ms. Sahar Iqbal (YP44-PUNJAB24), Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05), Mr. Touseef Abbasi (YP02-AJK02) and Mr. Usama Riaz (YP37-PUNJAB17) would like to move the following resolution: This House is of the opinion that religion is a very pious matter for all Muslims therefore media should restrain itself in mingling with certain notable showbiz personalities just to increase their ratings. These channels should not only be penalized but strict action should also be taken against them.”

Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05), Ms. Sahar Iqbal (YP44-PUNJAB24), Mr. Ahmed Numair Farooq (YP21-PUNJAB01), Mr. Muhammad Hamid Chaudhry (YP32-PUNJAB12), Mr. Ubaid-ur-Rehman (YP47-PUNJAB27), Ms. Anum Zia (YP23-PUNJAB03) and Mr. Omair Najam (YP52-SINDH04) to introduce a Government Bill further to amend Pakistan electronic media regulatory authority ordinance 2002.

Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05) would like to present a Special Report on “Southern Punjab.”

Ms. Anum Zia (YP23-PUNJAB03), Ms. Rabiya Shamim (YP53-SINDH05), Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05) and Mr. Muhammad Waqar (YP38-PUNJAB18) would like to move the following resolution:“This House is of the opinion that it is a great cause of concern that Pakistan has been tagged as the 27th most affected country by climate change. Ratifying international treaties and opting for international standards is effective only if there is proper implementation. The government should take immediate actions to encounter problems of deforestation, rapid urban growth, excessive greenhouse gas emissions, among other things aiding the problem of climate change and opt for a more sustainable model of growth and development.”

Ms. Shaheera Jalil Albasit (YP56-SINDH08), Mr. Gohar Zaman (YP25-PUNJAB05), Mr. Ubaid-ur- Rehman (YP47-PUNJAB27) and Mr.Muhammad Umar Riaz (YP36-PUNJAB16) would like to move the following resolution: “This House is of the opinion that students in Private educational institutions which are administered by Pakistan Army, Navy and Air force are strictly not allowed to conduct political debates and dialogues on matters relating to the Forces. This House is of the opinion that the military administration of these educational institutions must maintain a difference between a military academy and a civil institution and that these students must be allowed to hold and express their views on all social issues and must not be restricted from healthy political dialogues.”
